Walden on Lake Conroe is a semi-private golf and yacht community on Lake Conroe in Montgomery, Texas. This subdivision offers one of the top ranked golf courses in Texas, a professional golf school, a marina and yacht club, a racquet club and impressive tennis facilities. Walden also has access to Lake Conroe, boat ramps, hike and bike trails, swimming pools and exercise rooms. In Walden, the POA is actually a non-governing volunteer organization of property owners serving the needs of the community through local events and project funding. The Community Improvement Association, however, is the governing body of Walden, and administers roadway and ground maintenance, as well as deed restrictions, animal control, trash services and daily operation of the community. The Walden Golf Course is a semi-private course, open to both residents and non-residents. It is the home of the famous par 5 11th hole (featured in the banner picture) and has played host to several prestigious events. The club's golf school offers a state of the art teaching facility with professional instruction. They offer private lessons, clinics, all day intensive schools, and player development programs.
